Appointment at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
After 16 years at RTS, Dr. Frank James has accepted the position of Provost at Gordon Conwell- Theological Seminary in Boston, MA. Dr. James has served at RTS as Professor of Historical Theology, as Vice President for Academic Affairs for the whole of RTS and as President of the Orlando Campus. Dr. James after accepting the Gordon Conwell post said to the seminary “Transitions like this are always difficult. We have loved our years at RTS Orlando as well as our many dear friends and so many wonderful memories. It has been a great privilege to serve alongside you as Professor and President. The truth of the matter is that I have a deep affection for all the faculty, staff and students” Dr. James and his wife Carolyn will make their transition to
Massachusetts after the end of the Spring academic semester. Dr. Andy Hoffecker will teach Dr. James former classes next academic year while RTS searches for Dr. James’ replacement. Chancellor and CEO Dr. Ric Cannada commented “Frank has been a blessing to the entire RTS community and to me personally. We are grateful for his ministry among us and to us. We pray for God’s rich blessings to follow Frank and Carolyn in their new place of service and we look forward to a continued relationship and fellowship, although at a greater distance.” We all rejoice with the Frank and Carolyn for this new opportunity of ministry but we will all greatly miss them.
